Monroe County offering cash incentive to new grads to live and work in the area

Monroe County is offering cash incentives to keep recent college grads in the area. The pilot program is called Rochester Emerging Talent and Innovations Network, or RETAIN.

Leah Hamilton is a workforce coordinator for Optimax an optics manufacturer. She said finding new talent has been a challenge throughout the pandemic and her company works closely with local colleges to recruit future employees. “We can show students what opportunities are out there and be able to convey that information we have to go where the job seekers are, people who are upscaling and might have the opportunity to learn things that they may never knew before”.
