The new FAME scholarship will be offered to students pursuing an education that prepares them for employment in advanced manufacturing.
Optimax CEO Rick Plympton presented Karen Springmeier, FLWIB Executive Director, with a check for $10,000 at the annual FAME event in January to get the fund started.
The FLWIB is currently accepting donations for the scholarship, which will be managed by a FAME sub-committee. The goal is to raise $100,000 within five years, so that the fund will be endowed and self-sustaining.
