The optics and photonics industry in Rochester is a driving force behind keeping talented college graduates in the area. A great example is Ian Ferralli, who, after interning with Optimax, was motivated to stay post-graduation to pursue a career in the region’s flourishing photonics sector. According to Ale' Mendonza, head of HR at Optimax, this growth is “a sign of things to come” as Rochester solidifies its reputation as a photonics hub.
