Mastercam: Innovator of the Future Competition

As a technology leader, Optimax is constantly looking towards the future. Our objective is to leverage our optics manufacturing expertise for programs that benefit mankind and have fun doing it. That's why we are proud to be the judge of the Mastercam Innovator of the Future competition.

If you've seen images from the Curiosity rover, then you've seen Mars through Optimax's eyes. Optimax is responsible for the high-precision optics used in the Mars Curiosity rover. Enter the 2014 IOF competition and have a chance to win $1,000, a free set of Mastercam Mill Level 1, and a trip to FL to visit the Kennedy Space Center.

There are two options for the competition:

  • Engineer the future: Modify the part to lighten the overall piece while maintaining the structural integrity.
  • Get creative: Use the back of the part as a canvas for your design and machining creativity.
